General Mayor and Chief Architect to join Bucharest’s Technical Traffic Commission

The General Mayor and the Chief Architect will be part of the Technical Traffic Commission of the Municipality of Bucharest, according to a draft decision currently under public debate on the PMB website.

The draft provides for amendments to the Regulation on the organization and functioning of the Technical Traffic Commission, approved in June 2023. The updated Regulation would clarify the organization and operation of both the Technical Traffic Commission and the Technical Operational Commission, while also defining their responsibilities more clearly.

Under the proposed changes, the number of voting members in the Technical Traffic Commission will be reduced from 15 to 13.

The Commission would be chaired by the General Mayor, instead of the Executive Director of the Transport Directorate, as is currently the case. As a new element, the Chief Architect would join the Commission as vice-president, alongside the Executive Director of the Transport Directorate.
