Starting January 1, 2025, the updated Classification of Activities in the National Economy – CAEN Rev.3 – entered into force, approved by Order of the President of the National Institute of Statistics No. 377/17.04.2024.

Who is affected?
All companies, authorized natural persons (PFA), individual enterprises (II) and family enterprises (IF) must update their object of activity to comply with the new classification. The change is designed to harmonize Romanian activity codes with international standards.

Deadlines
The Government has set deadlines for updating NACE Codes, which may be extended until September 24, 2026.
